TC39-TG1 - Dynamic Scripting Language

Scope - Programme of work - TC39

Upcoming meetings

We have weekly phone conferences, Tuesday 9 AM Pacific time, except once a month when we meet face to face. The next face-to-face meeting is scheduled on 24-25 January 2008, in Mountain View (at Google).

Activities

The task group has made public a reference implementation of the proposed ECMA-262 4th edition language and is continuing to refine that implementation based on public and internal feedback (see the ECMAScript Programming Language website). A wiki for editing the ECMAScript Edition 4 spec has been set up and most of it is public.

A majority of the task group has finalised the set of proposals for edition 4, produced a reference implementation of the language, created a system for tracking design issues, and published an overview of the language.

The task group majority is currently writing the text of the 4th edition of ECMA-262 and plans to produce a final draft for approval at the December 2008 General Assembly.

A minority group of TG1 is working on a proposal for the maintenance of edition 3, and does not support the majority's proposal for edition 4.
