At the June 17, 2015 Ecma General Assembly in Montreux the "experimental" TC39 software copyright policy has been promoted to a "formal" Ecma-wide software copyright policy
Geneva, 22 June 2015
At its June 17, 2015 Ecma General Assembly (GA) in Montreux (CH) came to the conclusion that sufficient positive experience has been gathered with the experimental TC39 software copyright policy and decided that the "experimental" TC39 software copyright policy shall become with immediate effect "Ecma-wide" software copyright policy.
- The TC39 experimental policy has been introduced in 2010 and has been applied with success e.g. to the test modules of TC39 ECMAScript (both ES5, ES6; ECMA-402, …). The GA felt that now it is time to make this "experimental" policy to a final Ecma-wide policy.
The Ecma-wide software copyright policy is documented here.
