ECMA-271

Extended Commercially Oriented Functionality Class for Security evaluation (E-COFC)

2nd edition, December 1999

The Extended Commercially Oriented Functionality Class (E – COFC) extends the application of Ecma’s class of commercial security functions (Standard ECMA-205), to an environment of network based systems.

The identified security requirements specify a set of security functions for a commercial environment, which is addressed in three sub-classes:

  • The Enterprise Business class, addressing IT systems within a single legal business entity.
  • The Contract Business class, addressing multiple legal business entities (Closed User Group) that work together under a Common Contract. The IT systems are network based.
  • The Public Business class, addressing multiple legal units which do business on the basis of the general law on network based IT systems.
