Ecma International proudly marked its 65th anniversary on 29 June, celebrating more than six decades of leadership in Information and Communications Technology and Consumer‑Electronics standards. Members, partners and friends from across the global standards community joined the celebration, reflecting on Ecma’s enduring commitment to timely, industry‑driven collaboration.
A highlight of the event was a heartfelt message from ISO/IEC JTC 1, recognizing Ecma’s pivotal role in advancing foundational ICT standards and honouring the 39‑year partnership between Ecma and JTC 1. The acknowledgement underscored the strength of this long‑standing relationship and the shared dedication to shaping technologies that serve industry.
As Ecma looks ahead, the organization remains committed to building on this legacy with its members and partners. The next milestone will be shaped by the same spirit of cooperation, innovation and openness that has defined Ecma’s work since 1961. Ecma is poised to continue delivering impactful, globally relevant standards.
