Application of Psychoacoustic Analyses according to ECMA-418-2 presented at INTER-NOISE 2021 in August

Geneva, 22 November 2021

Dr. Julian Becker of Head Acoustics and member of Ecma TC26 presented a paper on the application of the new ECMA-418-2 standard which describes methods for the automatic quantification of tonal sounds and of modulated sounds which generate a sensation of roughness. The methods in ECMA-418-2 emulate human perception very closely. Several examples show how these parameters can be used for sound engineering and how to interpret the results.  A copy of Dr. Becker’s paper is available for purchase from the INTER-NOISE 2021 web page: https://internoise2021.org/
