It is with deep respect and appreciation that we honour the legacy of Donald Baines, a distinguished engineer and a leader in standards development.
As the Chair of Ecma TC26, Don played a pivotal role in shaping acoustics standards, serving as Chair or Vice-Chair from 1980 until his retirement in 1996. His contributions led to the publication of multiple standards, and his leadership fostered collaboration, trust, and innovation. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Don was awarded the Ecma Fellow in 2019.
Ecma International is honoured to have had him as an Ecma Fellow.
